The Kingman Army Airfield, which serves today as the Kingman Airport and Industrial Park (IGM) was founded in 1942 at the beginning of WWII as one of the nation largest aerial gunnery training bases.
Kingman Airport covers an area of 4,200 acres at an elevation of 3,449 feet (1,051 m) above mean sea level. It has two runways with asphalt surfaces: 3/21 is 6,827 by 150 feet (2,081 x 46 m); 17/35 is 6,725 by 75 feet (2,050 x 23 m).
